Zoe's Passport Experience

I know, it has been a long time since I last blogged, but life with a toddler (wasn't she just an infant yesterday?) is chaotic. It's funny because during New Year, I made a resolution to 1. Start waking up early 2. Keep up with my Blogging. None of them is going smooth so far. Go figure.

This was cute but she was sucking her thumb so
it was a no-go

Anyways, just a week ago, Chris and I decided to have Zoe's passport processed. We wanted our passports ready in cases we wanted to go overseas. We were quite confident for this process to be easy, you know, i take picture of Zoe all the time and she's loves being on camera so we thought, this is no brainer.

Day of the appointment came, we stepped in to our local post office, greeted the staff and we had this nice man, maybe around early 40s accommodating us. He was all smiles, and was very cool, he even gave Zoe stickers. And as expected, our little darling angel accepted the stickers, stuck it on the back of her hand and was smiling. All was going so well. The man, I forgot his name but I think it was Zach, told us to go to the back door for the photo shoot.

Lo and behold, the moment we stepped in the room Zoe started bawling. It was chaotic; Zoe screaming at the top of her lungs, resisting to be near the white background.

I was laughing the whole time because I thought the experience was very funny but Chris wanted a picture perfect of her daughter, so he began doing all these silly things to make Zoe laugh - none of them worked but thanks for the effort dad. One guy came up and brought a coloring book, didn't work either.

We had this picture of Zoe and I thought it was perfect, Chris thought otherwise. It took us 30 minutes to get a decent photo of Zoe looking at the camera.

Parents plan, children laugh. That's the way it goes I guess.

What was your experience while processing your kid's passports? Or are you planning to? Here are some quick info on what to bring during the appointment:

1. Call your local post office or county court to set an appointment
2. A form ( I got mine at the post office) you need to fill
3. Your child's birth certificate
4. Both parents proof of identity (valid IDs i.e. Driver's license, passport)
5. Passport
